Recreational drugs have been a core to society for centuries. In today's society, illicit drugs are taken beyond recreational use and are often abused.

This course will delve into  the mechanics of action that drugs have on the brain in adults and on the prematurely developed brain. It explains the basic anatomy and physiology of the brain, the central nervous system and the vital part it plays in maintaining regular function, and the changes to this when interfered by a drug stimulus.

The course also covers the side effects of partaking of illicit drugs; psychologically, physically and legally. It addresses identifying an influenced person and the first aid management to address these scenarios.
